Bodiam Castle, East Sussex,...
| Description: |
Bodiam is a medieval castle beside the River Rother in East Sussex in the south east of england. It is just south of the Kent/Sussex border.
It was built privately in the 14th. century but with royal permission. It almost certainly suited the king to have one of his loyal subjects raise a castle at this point as the Rother was formerly a lot deeper and wider so Bodiam provided a valuable defence. |
