Amalienborg Palace, Copenhagen, Denmark Description: This palace has been the home of the Danish Royal Family since 1794. It consists of a large square with four identical 18th century palaces that are characterized by fanciful, curved spatial forms and elaborate ornamentation. A ceremonial changing of the guard takes place in the square each day at noon. Only one of the palaces, which contains royal memorabilia can be viewed by the public.
